Complete Story

Unit of National Service Scheme, DMVN organized the special camp of the year 2021-22 during 23 to 29 March 2022. Due to the short notice by the authority of GUG, it was decided to arrange the camp at Gurudeo Sewa Mandir, Indira Nagar, Ratnapur. This year, the theme for the camp was ‘Sudrudh Aarogyasathi Yuvashakti’ (Youth for Better Health).
The 50 volunteers were appealed to register their names for the camp. After their selection, they were informed about the place and their responsibilities. The volunteers reached at the place on 23rd of March. The place was cleaned and the volunteers were parted in four groups. (1. Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Group, 2. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Group, 3. Savitribai Fule Group, and 4. Sant Gadgebaba Group). The volunteers made preparation for next day’s inauguration.
Inauguration Ceremony of the Camp was held on 24th March 2022. The inaugural function was presided over by Hon’ble Jayant Borkar, President of BSS and was inaugurated by Hon’ble Ganesh Jagdale, Tahsildar, Sindewahi. Honorable Dr Suresh Bakare, Principal of the institution, gave introductory remark. The program was compared by Dr L C Ujede, Head, Dept of English whereas vote of thanks was proposed by Dr M P Armarkar, Programme Officer and Director of Physical Education. Mr Premdas Vanaskar, President, Gurudeo Sewa Mandal, Indira Nagar, Ratnapur and Gabhane Sir, Trustee of the Mandal were also present.
The volunteers used to wake-up early in the morning for jogging and yoga.
The message of irrigation was given by constructing a forest dam of 550 unused cement bags on Uma river under Shramdan project. At the same time cleanliness drive in the area was organised. Awareness rally was arranged by the NSS volunteers. Some awareness and entertainment programs were also presented by the volunteers under the cultural activities. Expert guidance on various topics like “Cyber Security, Mushroom Cultivation, Youth Challenges, Health Checkups” etc. was also organized under the intellectual sessions. Volunteers arranged cleanliness drive and the cleaned the paths in Indira Nagar area and picking the garbage threw in the dust bin.
In the intellectual sessions the volunteers listened Mr Gopinath Nerkar, API, Police Station Sindewahi on the topic ‘Cyber Crime’ (DAY-III), Mr Prafull Shende, Manager, GBS Mushrooms and Agro Businesses Pvt Ltd, Chandrapur on the topic ‘Mushroom Cultivation’(DAY-IV), and Mr Vilas Borkar, Asst Teacher, Matoshri Vidyalaya on the topic ‘Challenges Before Today’s Youth’ (DAY-V).
On 28th March, the concluding program was graced by the BDO of Panchayat Samiti, Sindevahi Mr Sanjay Puri and Extension Officer Shri Sanjay Kambale. Dr. S. S. Bakre, Principal of Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya presided over the function. Various activities were implemented under this special camp. On the concluding day, a grand rally was organized to spread the message of cleanliness and health. The report of the entire camp was presented by Dr. Manoj Armarkar, NSS Program Officer. The concluding program was compered by Dr. Ujede and the vote of thanks was proposed by Co-Program Officer Mr. Kshirsagar. Ms. Nihite, Head, Dept of Sociology and Co-program Officer, NSS, all the faculty members and non-teaching staff including contributed for the success of this camp.

The volunteers learnt the values leadership skills, communication skills, responsibility, social awareness, etc through various activities.
